Nedlands tops local sales

NEDLANDS was the top performing local suburb in the four weeks to October 1, with REIWA reporting 17 sales in that period.

Ray White Dalkeith-Claremont director Vivien Yap said both new and older homes were attracting buyer interest.

“Homes that are ripe and ready to be renovated are popular,” she said.

“Buyers are also seeking new homes that are ready to move into with nothing to do.”

Mrs Yap said the $1 million to high $1 million price bracket was seeing the most activity and reasonably priced properties were selling quickly.

“We sold an older home in Dalkeith Road within two weeks,” she said.

“It attracted four offers, including two within hours of the first home open, and sold in the mid-$1 millions.”

Mrs Yap said Nedlands attracted a range of buyers.

“It appeals to families with children ready to enroll in local schools or already in private schools, along with professionals who work in nearby hospitals, close to the city, and academics,” she said.

She expected market activity to continue to be strong in the lead-up to Christmas.

“It will certainly be busy as there seems to be renewed interest from buyers who were previously in the market,” she said.

“And we are seeing more offers presented for each campaign.”
