New Dalkeith home showcases Giorgi’s skills

Natalie HordovWestern Suburbs Weekly

GIORGI Architects and Builders are showcasing their high-end design and building skills with their latest custom-built residence open for viewing.

The three-storey home at 20 Circe Circle, Dalkeith, was built to make the most of the 1000sq m corner site and based on the owner’s brief to create an up-to-the-minute look, using natural materials including timber, concrete, steel and stone.

Sales and marketing manager Danny Giorgi said the home offered a balance of light and shade and a relationship between finessed materials, making it both architecturally sculptural and organic.

“With soaring ceilings and plenty of open spaces, we wanted to embrace a sensation of fluidity and lightness in the seamless connection between living indoors or outside and how we used materials to match this feeling,“ he said.

The facade features a 7m formed concrete wall – the tallest in situ cast wall in any of Giorgi’s residences to date – neutral decor, stone walls, cedar cladding and horizontal steel blades that support the linear aesthetic while providing shading.

Inside, Mr Giorgi said a mix of industrial-finished concrete and chevron-laid timber floors to the main living areas provided a level of sophistication not usually seen in residential homes.
