THEIR children have “flown the coop” and the owners are downsizing from their “warm family home”.
“We have lived here for 14 years,” they said.
“The house provides great separation for children and adults to entertain simultaneously and we have wonderful memories of 18th and 21st birthdays, and many great gatherings with the children’s friends coming and going.
“We are very sad to be leaving, but the home needs a family to love and enjoy all that it has to offer.”
The house has a Mediterranean feel with character touches including a timber staircase from the Commonwealth Bank building in Fremantle, timber floorboards from the old Swan Brewery and French antique doors at the front of the home.
On a 1047sq m corner block, the spacious, two-storey residence is ideal for family living.
There are two garages, providing plenty of room for parents and older children to park their cars and there is ample space for younger kids to play in the lush gardens.
The home’s expansive layout allows adults and children to have their own spaces.
The ground floor includes three large bedrooms, one with an ensuite and dressing room, along with an open-plan kitchen/meals/sitting area, separate living room, study and main bathroom.
There is also a billiard room complete with underground wine cellar.
Parents can have the first floor to themselves if they want, particularly when the children get older.
It has its own open-plan living/dining/kitchen area that opens to a wrap-around balcony with ocean views.
There is also a lounge room with fireplace and a balcony.
“All the rooms in the house have an aspect of either the garden, the ocean or the Hills,” the owner said.
“The best views are from the first floor, where we have beautiful vistas of the ocean and hills to the east; the sunsets and sunrises are mesmerising and we never fail to stop and enjoy them both.”
The balconies have also been great places to entertain family and friends, and with several to choose from, the owners said they can always be out of the wind to enjoy the views and fresh air.
The master bedroom with walk-in robe and ensuite is also on the first floor.
The owners and their children have loved living in City Beach.
“The neighbourhood offers so many options for activities and our family has used them all,” they said.
“Golf, swimming at Bold Park pool, walking the trails of Bold Park, swimming at City Beach and the cafes and restaurants all within walking distance.
“We have lovely neighbours and there is a street party every year at Christmas with Santa in attendance.”
