A DESIRE to give each member of the family their own space was behind the design of this home by Giorgi Architects & Builders in 2006.
“We have four daughters and asked architect Ariane Prevost to design a functional home that allowed each daughter a private room and a living area that could be used by them and their friends,” the owner said.
“In addition, as parents we wanted a private area/bedroom that we could enjoy.”
The result was a stunning tri-level home that was suited to family living.
As well as being functional, the owners said the design allowed in plenty of natural light and the surrounding mature trees provided a beautiful green and peaceful outlook from every room in the house
A four-car garage and temperature-controlled cellar are on the lowest level.
The ground floor includes an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area that opens to the front veranda and a central garden courtyard.
The owners said the front veranda had the best view in the house.
“We enjoy a tea or coffee sitting on the patio in the morning surrounded by a superb visual landscape, Norfolk pines and beautiful mature trees,” they said.
The central courtyard is an ideal place to entertain and was the location for many meals and barbecues while the owners enjoyed the sound of the waterfall.
They said it was protected from the weather and could be used for many months of the year.
The parents’ retreat is at the back of the home and includes a study, master bedroom, walk-in robe and ensuite with large bath.
It opens to a private enclosed garden.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms with built-in robes, two bathrooms and a living area, with a kitchenette, that opens to a balcony.
The home has gorgeous quality features, including Donnybrook stone, marble benchtops in the kitchen and bathrooms, high-end appliances in the kitchen, gas flame fireplace in the living area, high ceilings throughout, timber bi-fold doors, ducted reverse-cycle airconditioning and security system.
It is on a 487sq m block in a quiet street close to the beach, golf course, shops and cafes and schools.
It has been a wonderful home for the owners and their family, but now their daughters have moved out they are moving to Margaret River.
