“We catch the train to work and cycle to the beach, so we don’t even need our car.”
The owner also likes the one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment’s proximity to Lake Claremont.
“It’s very relaxing being able to stroll down after work and enjoy the scenery and wildlife,” he said.
“When we’re feeling a little energetic, it’s also a fantastic place to exercise and the newly renovated golf course has been taking up a fair chunk of my free time recently.”
As well as being in a great location, the home is also well located within the Churinga Gardens complex.
“It’s in the northeast of the complex, with a north-facing courtyard, which means we get amazing natural light all day long,” the owner said.
“There’s also a great afternoon sea breeze and nice tree cover so we don’t need any airconditioning.”
The home has an open-plan living/meals/kitchen area that opens to the courtyard with a covered alfresco area.
“My favourite thing about the property is definitely our private courtyard,” the owner said.
“We enjoy gardening and we grow a few vegies and we also enjoy a meal or a coffee with a game of scrabble under the alfresco area.
“The birds often rest and sing in the trees too, so it has become a really relaxing place for us.”
The owner is going to miss his home.
“I still appreciate being able to catch the train home from work, pick up some dinner on the walk between the station and my front door and then enjoy a wine in the courtyard,” he said.
“In terms of lifestyle, I think I will forever be comparing our future residences with this one.”
