EVEN though the cooler weather is starting to make its presence felt, you can still enjoy a wonderful outdoors lifestyle in this character beach home.
“We love the front garden in winter,” the owner said.
“We enjoy sitting under the frangipani tree with the fire pit glowing and a nice glass of red wine and toasting marshmallows.
“In the front garden you get a real sense of space and a great view of the starry night sky.”
A solar-heated pool with swim jet and gas-heated spa in the backyard can also be enjoyed year round, and the owner said many an evening entertaining family and friends ended with a glass of bubbles in the spa.
Built in the early 1900s, the house has been renovated over time but retains its charm with a cheerful red front door with leadlight features, entry with ornate arch, high ceilings, picture rails and jarrah flooring.
The living spaces include a light-filled open-plan living area with fireplace and a low-set window looking out to the pool and modern kitchen with European appliances, breakfast bar and stone benchtops.
Doors on one side of the living area open to a dining room with ornate fireplace, while bi-fold doors on the other open to a decked entertaining area.
There are three bedrooms and the two modern bathrooms were updated in 2015.
The master bedroom has a fireplace with pretty tiled hearth and timber mantel, walk-in robe and ensuite with underfloor heating.
On a 566sq m block on the corner of Jarrad and Barsden streets, the home is central to a range of community activities.
“The neighbourhood is so friendly,” the owner said.
“Every Christmas, Jarrad Street residents get together for nibbles and drinks and every month Barsden Street hosts a pizza and drinks evening.
“There are lots of children on the street who regularly get together for a play after school.
“We will really miss this.”
