BUILDING on a triangular block can be a challenge, but it was one that was easily met by the original owners of this house.
When current owner Mark Clay was looking for a new home, he was initially drawn to its unique and unusual design and sleek, clean lines.
“On inspection, the layout and design of this triangular home suited us perfectly, with its very high ceilings, large picture windows, central versatile living areas bathed in the northern sun, and bedrooms arranged on the apexes to enjoy the best of summer cool and winter light,” he said.
The home’s central living areas have views of gardens and streetscapes, and include a formal lounge and dining area with an open fireplace.
There is also the family/meals area and kitchen that opens to a paved alfresco area on one side and, through bi-fold doors, to a second outdoor area.
The two children’s bedrooms are at one end of the house with an activity room, bathroom and laundry.
The elevated master bedroom is at the other end and has a balcony, walk-in robe and large ensuite with a clawfoot bath.
Mr Clay said it overlooked a Dalkeith panorama down Hynes Road towards the tennis club and sports grounds and there was a delightful view from the bed, bath or balcony.
There is another bedroom/study off the formal living area that opens to the garden.
Mr Clay has enhanced the home’s appeal and functionality, adding a solar-heated pool, and extending the boundary wall around the Hynes and Leon roads corner to enclose the pool area.
The property was also landscaped to maximise outdoor areas and sunlight to the home and gardens.
Mr Clay said the several, resort-class outdoor zones offered private areas for relaxing, recreational use, dining and entertaining, and the unique pool and pool area were something special.
The home is on an 809sq m block in a quiet street close to the river, schools, sporting clubs, Claremont Quarter and CBD.
