THIS house has been a true family home, playing host to children’s birthday parties, Masterchef challenges in the kitchen and Christmas lunches for nearly 40 family members in the lounge and dining room followed by everyone swimming in the pool.
The owners have two children and bought the home on an 862sq m block six years ago, liking the bright, open living areas, huge kitchen and large yard.
“It is a perfect house for a young family, with great living spaces and outdoor areas for the kids to play,” they said.
“The house is also opposite a park with a playground and basketball court, which has been great for our children and it is in walking distance of the Floreat Forum and Floreat Primary School.”
The home’s living spaces include a formal living/dining room, a living/meals area that opens to an alfresco area and kitchen with Smeg range, quality appliances and ample storage.
The owners said the kitchen was a point of congregation for their family.
“The kids sit on the stools and we chat,” they said.
“It is lovely and bright and also offers a view to the alfresco area and pool.”
The alfresco area was another favourite space.
“It is beautiful to sit there and watch the kids in the pool and the northerly sun in winter makes it the perfect place to sit down with a cup of tea and the newspaper,” the owners said.
The home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The master bedroom includes an ensuite and walk-in robe.
There are two more bedrooms with built-in robes and a fourth bedroom/study.
The owners have carried out some renovations since buying the home, including rendering the entire house to cover the brown brickwork and completely landscaping the backyard.
This included replacing the brown brick pavers and timber deck around the pool with travertine paving, new grass, new limestone edges around the garden beds and new plants front and back.
