THIS is a magnificent home, and the owner said while it was like living in a resort, it was still a family home; a happy house where children grew up and numerous special occasions were celebrated.
It was designed by Lomma Homes and completed in 2007.
“We wanted a resort-style feel, as we work long hours, it was important to be able to relax when at home,” the owner said.
“We designed the house to have the entertaining area facing east, we can sit there almost all year round without the wind.
“The size of the block enabled us to have a lap pool and a plunge pool – our family and friends have had lots of fun here.”
Functionality was also important.
“It was carefully designed, with much thought given to space, loads of cupboards and storage and good sized bedrooms each with its own ensuite,” the owner said.
“The incredible Leon House designed the kitchen, laundry and all the bathrooms and the attention to detail and functionality is outstanding.
“There is a also bathroom in the garage which is perfect for after the beach, husband coming home dirty from work and very handy for last minute toilet stop.
“We also have a powder room with outdoor shower on the sun deck in the pool area which is perfect for parties.”
The owner said it was hard to pick a favourite room, and as you view the house it is easy to see why.
There is a formal lounge with a feature fireplace, a ideal place enjoy some quiet time on a winter’s day.
The family also used this room at Christmas for present opening.
The layout then leads past a study to an open-plan living/dining area and the kitchen with stone benchtops, walk-in pantry and a huge island bench.
“I think we will miss sitting around the bench,” the owner said.
“It’s the best place for breakfast and informal meals, as there is seating on both sides it is great for conversation.”
The living areas wrap around the outdoor areas, which include an alfresco area with timber-lined ceiling off the kitchen, the two pools and the enclosed sun deck.
A gym and games room with built-in bar also open to the outdoor area.
There is also a guest bedroom with walk-in robe, ensuite and balcony access on the main level.
Upstairs, there is a grand master bedroom with walk-in robe, luxurious ensuite with his-and-hers vanity unit and spa bath, and balcony access.
The two children’s bedrooms also have walk-in robes and ensuites and are near a living space that could be a teenagers’ retreat.
It opens to another good-sized balcony.
The home is on a 923sq m block and offers a fantastic coastal lifestyle.
“It’s a family orientated neighbourhood,” the owner said.
“We have made good friends with the neighbours and locals; it’s a beautiful feeling going for a walk and everyone acknowledges you with a hello.
“We also love the proximity to the beach; it’s a 10 minute walk.
“And the local shops are fantastic with a 24-hour IGA and there are fabulous cafes that all the locals frequent – I’ll definitely be back for a coffee from Georges cafe.”
