THE owners said they found the perfect home without having to build themselves when they bought this two-storey house on a 607sq m block.
It was built in 1938 and extended in 2009. The owners said it was built to such perfection regarding layout, materials and style that they could not have done it any better.
Beautiful timber flooring is a feature in the living areas, which include a media room with built-in desk and huge open-plan living/dining/kitchen area.
The spacious kitchen will impress with a walk-in pantry, built-in wine rack, ample storage and floating island bench with a breakfast bar.
The living zone and kitchen open to a decked alfresco area overlooking the solar-heated pool, which is an ideal place to enjoy casual family meals or entertain on a larger scale.
The owners said the house had year-round appeal.
“In winter we love sitting around the fireplace in the living area looking out into the garden,” they said.
“In summer we love jumping into the pool after walking home from a morning at the beach.
“And almost all year round, we love having family barbecues outside on our alfresco area looking to the amazing gum tree and watching the parrots.”
The owners have three children and said the home would easily suit a larger family with three bedrooms, one with an ensuite and the main bathroom on the ground floor and two large bedrooms, both with ensuites and walk-in robes, on the first floor.
They have enjoyed the family-friendly location “just a stone’s throw from the water” as much as the home.
“We love the short walking distance to the beach, local restaurants, cafes, shops and sports facilities,” they said.
“It makes for a very relaxed beach lifestyle; it feels like living in a holiday home permanently.
“We also like being just behind the dune as we are sheltered from the wind.”
