THE owner wanted to create an attractive, spacious home that would not look outdated with changing fashion when they built this home in 2008.
They also wanted a house to accommodate a family.
The two-storey home on a 472sq m block easily achieves these goals.
Light-filled with neutral decor and gleaming timber flooring, it has a relaxed coastal ambience.
The ground floor includes a living room and open-plan family/dining/kitchen area.
The dining area includes a fireplace and the galley-style kitchen has a long island bench with breakfast bar and stainless-steel appliances and opens to a paved area with built-in barbecue.
The sunken family zone is the owner’s favourite place in the house.
“From here I can have a conversation with someone in the kitchen, watch TV and look outside to the garden,” they said.
“I find it to be a very relaxing place.”
While the view of the landscaped garden with its manicured lawn and hedges is very attractive, the owner said the outlook from the upstairs master bedroom with walk-in robe, ensuite and balcony was the best in the house.
“Due to its balcony, it has a nice view above other houses, yet is very private because it is sheltered by trees at the property boundary,” they said.
The first floor also includes another living area, two more bedrooms with built-in robes and the main bathroom.
The home is suited to family living and is also in a quiet street in a family friendly area.
“The neighbourhood is the best,” the owner said.
“There are two great cafes just two minutes’ walk from the house, plus about another five within a 10-minute walk.
“Allen Park is great for walking dogs and taking young children to a playground, and the beach is a 10-minute walk away, perfect for that early morning wake-up swim.”
The home is also in walking distance of the train station and close to schools.
