DESIGNED by Yael-K and built by City Beach Builders, this award-winning home on a 304sq m block was purpose-built to the owners’ liking and they were so keen to move in and enjoy its beautiful spaces, they did so before the curtains were hung.
Their eagerness is easy to understand.
“This was the first home my husband and I built and it is stunning,” the owner said.
“We specifically wanted a home that was beautiful to look at, had a lovely feel to it inside and also had excellent entertaining areas.
“No expense was spared, all the finishes are absolutely top-class, from the Bernini travertine floors to the sand-rendered walls and Miele appliances.”
The home is suited to entertaining on a large or small scale.
If you want to share a cinema experience with family and friends, the owner said the theatre room with 100-inch screen provided the ultimate environment for watching movies.
An open-plan living/dining/kitchen zone allows people to come together or enjoy some quiet conversation around the stone-clad, dual-sided ethanol fireplace.
“We loved the stone fireplaces from the 1960s and had one created with a modern touch, tying into the stone feature wall in the facade,” the owner said.
“It creates a partial partition from the kitchen/dining area to the lounge.”
The kitchen can handle all your culinary demands and has stone benchtops, integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher, underbench bar fridge, large walk-in pantry, hidden storage, angled breakfast bar with LED lighting and travertine splashback.
Bi-fold doors in the sunken lounge room open to the alfresco area, creating a seamless entertaining space.
The three bedrooms are upstairs and the huge master is an impressive space with a stunning ensuite with double vanity unit, full-height stone tiling, skylight and a deep two-person bath, and a large walk-in robe with floor-to-ceiling shoe rack.
A window seat overlooks the trees to Allen Park and the owner said it was a perfect place to cosy up with a book and enjoy the sunshine.
Beneath the home is an undercroft six-car garage.
“It’s the ultimate man-cave and my husband could happily spend a whole day there watching the footy on the TV and tinkering with his fishing rods and lures,” the owner said.
The home is truly special, and the owner said the neighbourhood was too.
“The area is, in our opinion, the best of Swanbourne,” she said.
“Allen Park is at the end of the street, you can walk through back-to-back parks to get to the beach and there are two corner stores for morning coffees and essentials.
“Cross Street has a reputation for being a close-knit, friendly community and we’ll miss our neighbours as much as the house.
“It’s actually very difficult to get into this little pocket of Swanny and the opportunities to buy on Cross Street are even harder to come by.” </>n
