“Some people may remember me door knocking every house, each year, with a personalised fridge calendar with a photo of the front of their home on it,” she said.

She moved into property management and became the licensee and director of asset management for Caporn Young, building their management portfolio to over 600 properties.

In 2009 Mrs Borg was named REIWA’s property manager of the year.

An opportunity to open a new branch of a Perth-based relocation business saw her move to Darwin.

After a year, she opened her own property management agency, C-Vue Property Group, building a strong portfolio before selling the business and returning to Perth this year.

Mrs Borg said Perth, like Darwin, was a tough market but there was always a tenant out there for every property.

“This is when you need to make sure you have connected with a management company that can go beyond the call of duty to find tenants,” she said. “We work six days a week, showing properties 7am to 7pm, to make sure we don’t miss out on that perfect tenant.”

Technology was also important and C-Vue used an online portal that allowed landlords to keep track of their property.

Mrs Borg said as a small boutique business, C-Vue was committed to offering a high level of service.

“I am the business owner and property manager and have a vested interest in making sure everything is done with the upmost professionalism,” she said. n
