Retirement is your time at Amana Living’s Moline Village

Couple George and Julie Lanyi retired at 50 after successfully building a property portfolio to fund their later years.

The Lanyis have lived a full life in retirement: they joined a yacht club, travelled regularly and helped to care for their parents, as well as being full-time babysitters for their granddaughter.

Yet they wanted more time to themselves.

“We want to make the most of our life, I’m nearly 64 and Julie is 60, the kids are set-up now and doing well, so it’s our time,” George said.

George and Julie started exploring their options, visiting retirement villages from Albany to Jurien Bay before deciding to stay in Perth.

However, it was not until George’s mum passed away and their son had moved out of home that the Lanyis decided it was time to make a move.

They found Amana Living’s Moline Village in Karrinyup, which offers a combination of apartments and villas in a resort-style setting.

The village is close to Karrinyup Shopping Centre, local parks and Trigg Beach, with village amenities including a swimming pool, shop, hairdressers, visiting GP and podiatrist, community hall and library.

George and Julie said the location was perfect and the apartment offered everything they needed.

After selling their two-storey home in Morley in just five weeks, the couple moved in to Moline Village on Easter Saturday this year.

George and Julie are now settled into their new way of life: they enjoy meeting their neighbours and take advantage of the facilities like the pool and gym as well as taking regular strolls to the café at Trigg beach.

“We have met many other residents who have all been very friendly, supportive and helpful in getting us to feel like we belong to this wonderful community,” George and Julie said.

“We feel like a load has been lifted, it’s comfortable, cosy and secure.

We also feel safe with Amana Living knowing they are a big company and they can look after us if one of us gets frail in the years to come.

“We’ve got no intention of ever leaving, it is perfect, we are over the moon.”
