Brothers reign over swim and scrabble

Radheya (15) played in the National Scrabble Championships in Melbourne, while younger brother Rahul (13) swam in the Indian Ocean All-Stars Challenge in Perth.

Rahul won four gold, two silver and two bronze medals as well as the 13-year-old group prize for Outstanding Male Swimmer.

He said he enjoyed the competitive nature of the day.

"I was pretty excited to represent Australia competing against the Asia team," he said.

"Before the event we had a get-to-know-you session with some coaches and one with my own coach, Travis Nederpelt."

Radheya won the Highest National Ratings Gain for Youth and finished second overall in the National Scrabble Championships.

"It was a really fun experience because I have never travelled for scrabble before and I think it provided me an insight into what happens in those kinds of tournaments," he said.

"I was very nervous… (but) Im quite happy with the results I got."
