City Beach Slammers players Anja Dokic (16) and Meg Connell (16) are part of the home team that have a good chance of winning the $20,000 prize money after finishing top of the ladder.

The Slammers are among four WA women’s and four men’s teams vying for the prize against four other states in the three-round, $110,000 competition comprising four singles and two doubles matches.

City Beach won 6-0 in the first round, 5-1 in the second and beat Midland at Cottesloe Tennis Club last Sunday.

The City Beach women’s team will meet Midland in the grand final.

Dokic, playing in her second Asia-Pacific Tennis League WA Conference, is ranked number 52 in Australia and Connell, playing her first conference, is the reigning under-18 champion.

The final at City Beach will include rides and games for children, food for sale and the bar will be open for adults.

Winners will represent WA in a final at Melbourne Park during the Australian Open.
