Football: local junior rivals clash at the MCG

YEAR 7 teams from the Swanbourne Tigers, Cottesloe Magpies and West Coast Saints recently travelled to Melbourne to watch St Kilda take on Richmond at the MCG.

The Tigers and Magpies played each other in front of 36,000 people at half time with Cottesloe representing the Tigers and Swanbourne Saint Kilda.

Swanbourne, who also played against Victorian team Mordialloc-Braeside Mustangs coming out victorious, won the match and some players were treated to a tour of the Saints’ change rooms and met players.

Cottesloe also had a win against interstate team Beaumaris Sharks while the West Coast Saints played the East Malvern Knights.
