WEMBLEY sent an ominous warning to its rivals in the WA Amateur Football B League last Saturday with a huge win over second-place Whitford.
The Magpies thumped the Warriors 18.13 (121) to 12.5 (77).
The 44-point margin flattered Whitford, as Wembley racked up 31 scoring shots to 17.
Wembley is now two wins and 10 per cent clear on top of the ladder with just two rounds to go.
It was the Magpies’ third consecutive win after their shock loss to Mt Lawley in early last month.
Tim Noakes continued his good form with four goals, bringing his season tally to 44.
Daniel Reid kicked three, and has 30 goals from his 16 games to date.
Wembley had a great spread of scoring avenues, with five players chipping in with two goals each.
This Saturday the Magpies will face 9th-placed Melville and with their final game against 8th-placed Wanneroo. Whitford would need some crazy voodoo tactics to stop Wembley from finishing on top.
