WHEN Libby McNamara (nee Driscoll) saw a photo of her at North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club (NCSLSC) from 1960 published by the Western Suburbs Weekly last week, it brought back memories of her years with the club.

The photo was of the Nedlands resident, who grew up in Claremont, with her NCSLSC team mates after winning the 1960 female State Rescue and Resuscitation Championships.

“I spent all my young days at the beach,” the Nedlands resident said.

“I was a member (at NCSLSC) from the late 50s and in to the 60s but then I started nursing training.
