ROUND 3 of the State League Tennis had Australian ranked junior Will Hann from Cottesloe face off against former partner Tristan Schoolkate, who now plays for Dalkeith.

Having made the final of the Australian under-16 doubles and winning a Grade 4 ITF together, friendships were set aside in a clash of the young titans.

Hann broke through early but Schoolkate delivered with a 4-6 6-3 6-1 win.

The result set up a 4-1 rubber win for the Dalkeith dolphins who are still undefeated.

At Alexander Park , tour player Brydan Klein, who featured in last year’s finals for Mosman Park, returned this year to play for Hensman and survived a tight match against the Alexander Park’s Eddie Bourchier 6-0 6-7 6-4.

Klein is ranked 565 in the world and was in Traralgon last week where he beat world ATP 110 ranked Jason Kubler.

Hensman’s Zach Itzstein delivered a 7-5 7-5 win over rising star Jerome Iaconi to set up his team’s first win 4-1 following two draws.

In other results, Bayswater looked a very different side with the inclusion of tour player Gavin Van Peperzeel who led them to a close win over Mt Lawley.

Down the coast, Peppermint Grove went down to Royal Kings Park two rubbers to four and take on Dalkeith at home next week.
