THREE western suburbs teenagers have been selected in the WA under-18 women’s hockey team that will take part in the National Championships next month.
Jolie Sertorio (Peppermint Grove), Sara Foster (Nedlands) and Sarah Byrnes (Floreat) are part of the 18-woman squad that will take part in the championships in Hobart from April 19-29.
Isabella Suleski (Nedlands) has been listed as a reserve.
Hockey WA High Performance coach Tom Wickham said selecting a team had been difficult.
“The past couple of weeks have been a tough process trying to iron out who the final 18 will be to travel to Hobart,” Wickham said.
“It’s always a tough process when you have a group of young talented athletes competing for limited positions, however we are happy with the selections we have come to.
“We have selected athletes who we believe are ready to step up to the demands and expectations we require to put us into a position to win, and the same goes for the reserves.”
