IF YOU have ever wondered how to make leaping from a platform in the air into a pool look graceful, now is your chance to learn.

Diving WA has started a ‘Learn to Dive’ program at HBF Stadium in Mt Claremont for adults and teenagers 15 and over.

Chief executive Steven Rose said the program was not just for people who wanted to try diving, but also for those returning to the sport.

“Previously there have been limited opportunities for people in this age bracket to try or return to diving,” he said.

“Diving is one of the highest watched sports at the Olympic Games, but many are unsure how to get involved or try for the first time.

“Many of our current participants also have children involved in diving and are taking away a greater understanding of what their children are learning and achieving in the sport.”

Perth diver Eliza Cole, who has represented WA and Australia, is coaching the program.

“Eliza won three gold medals at the FINA World Masters Championships in 2015,” he said.

“She is also now a FINA level judge and is working towards her Level 2 coaching accreditation.”

The program runs year-round, with participants able to take part in multiple sessions per week, month or on a casual basis.
