COTTESLOE Tennis Club member Maddison Inglis will join Casey Dellacqua, Sam Stosur, Arina Rodionova and Daria Gavrilova as the “orange girl” for the Australian Fed Cup team when they play this US this month.
Australian captain Alicia Molik named the 18-year-old junior for the team to play at Pat Rafter Arena on April 16 and 17.
Inglis won a wildcard into the main draw of the Australian Open, made the final of the 18s Nationals and delivered impressive results on the Pro Tour.
WA National Academy coach Andrew Roberts said the “orange girl” role was a testament to the hard work Inglis had put in over the past year.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Maddi to spend time with some of Australia’s best players and immerse herself in their training habits, preparation, and match-day performance,” Roberts said.
“The knowledge and experience she will come away with is invaluable.”
