Netball: St Hilda’s teams claim premierships

STUDENTS from St Hilda’s have finished their netball season on a high, with back-to-back wins making for an unforgettable season.

St Hilda’s 1 in division six finished the season undefeated, claiming the minor premiership before winning the grand final against Perth College last weekend .

Despite being down by one goal in the fourth quarter, the team came back to win by three goals.

An undefeated St Hilda’s 7 Year 5 students in division five won their premiership and St Hilda’s 4 Year 6 division one got back-to-back wins.

Year 7 student Ava Renouf it was a great season.

“It was mind blowing and I felt so happy, because it was really intense during the whole game,” she said.

“Netball is one of my biggest passions and I just want to play forever.”

St Hilda’s Netball Club co-ordinator Sidonie Cox described the game as “phenomenal” given the club was only in its second year of operation.

“The girls worked incredibly hard and have been very dedicated and committed to improving their skills and fitness,” she said.

“I’m so proud of the effort they put in and the support that they gave to one another.”
