Perth teen on the march at Wimbledon

PERTH’S Tristan Schoolkate is into the last 16 of the Wimbledon boys’ singles after a commanding performance against Switzerland’s Dominic Stricker last night.

The 18-year-old from Scarborough cruised into the third round with a 6-3 6-4 victory in one hour and five minutes, blowing past his opponent courtesy of 28 winners.

Schoolkate primed for Wimbledon debut

The win followed a straight-sets victory over American Toby Kodat in the first round.

Schoolkate will now take on Czech Dalibor Svrcina for a place in the quarter-finals.

The Dalkeith Tennis Club product is the number-35 ranked junior in the world, with his opponent Svrcina ranked 51.
