The 20-year-old and West Coast Splash teammates Danielle Kettlewell (22), Danielle ten Vaanholt (22), Amie Thompson (19) and Rose Stackpole (20) recently defeated New Zealand to qualify for the 10-woman national team.

Tsai said they were working on a number of routines, including one set to the Footloose theme song.

"We are so excited to be preparing for the Olympic Games," she said. "We are really proud that so much of the Australian team is based in Western Australia."

In between working and studying, they will train for about seven hours every day in Perth, and at least 10 hours daily on the AIS training camp. Club president Andrea Hewson said synchronised swimming was a growing sport in Australia.
