The club, with about 45 members aged from 25 to 80, trains on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Sundays from 9am to 10am at the Newman College pool.

Geoff Miller and Frank Maloney joined about 25 years ago and agreed it was a great way to keep fit and socialise.

Miller, of Floreat, said his three children attended Newman College and he had always been involved in surf-lifesaving so decided to sign up.

Maloney has a similar story, saying he followed some Scarboro Surf Life Saving friends to the club after becoming unfit and wanting to get back in shape.
