COTTESLOE synchronised swimmer Jess Eidne (16) from the Challenge Stadium-based West Coast Splash club has been selected for the National Junior Team.

Eidne and three other club members from Perth are part of the eight-member squad going to New York for the 2017 Synchro America Open this month.

“Our fantastic athletes and coaches have worked really hard over the last season to prepare for selections,” West Coast Splash head coach Nawal Kurson said.

The swimmers’ training includes endurances, gymnastics and pool-based training about 18 hours every week.

National team members from WA will join a weeklong training camp in the eastern states.

“It is the first time Australia will have national teams in all age groups, 13-15, junior and senior, and it is a big step for the sport,” Kurson said.
