In recognition of his outstanding contribution to rugby union in Australia, Collis was nominated for the Lifetime Volunteer of the Year award.
‘I started volunteering when my kids played sport and I have never missed a season,’ Collis said.
The award recognises people who have given their life to the game and in doing so have helped others to enjoy rugby.
Now 75, Collis has been involved with the UWA Rugby Club for more than nine years and said he was very surprised to have been nominated.
‘I really enjoy volunteering, it keeps me active,’ Collis said.
Collis has an extensive volunteering history, including the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Paralympics and Eastwood Rugby Club.
Collis also donates time each month to the Heart Patient Support Group at Fremantle Hospital.
