Julian WrightWestern Suburbs Weekly

STUDENTS from five primary schools were able to gain athletic skills from Olympians last month at HBF Stadium in the lead up to Rio 2016.

Kylie Wheeler (heptathlon), Blair Evans (swimming), Olivia Vivian (gymnastics), Travis Nederpelt (swimming) and Belinda Stowell (sailing) shared their Olympic experiences as part of Olympic Day.

Vivian demonstrated handstands, cartwheels and flips to a group of about 20 students before letting them have a go on the trampolines and other equipment.

VenuesWest chief executive David Etherton said he was excited the venue played a role in supporting WA’s athletes following their dreams all the way to Rio.
