WACA Premier Cricket: Claremont-Nedlands remains unbeaten with win over Perth

CLAREMONT-NEDLANDS Cricket Club continued its unbeaten form, as Jake Whiteaker led his side to a two-wicket victory to headline Round 4 of the Premier Cricket season.

Whiteaker carried his bat for 77 not out, as Claremont-Nedlands eclipsed Perth’s score of 193 at Cresswell Park on Saturday.

Earlier, Matt Kelly and Haydan Morton were vital, taking three wickets each to restrict the visitors, with Keagan Africa the other notable wicket-taker with two.

The Tigers were cruising to victory at 3-132 before losing a bundle of wickets, with Whiteaker crucial in guiding them home with an over to spare.

Subiaco Floreat were handsomely beaten, as they went down to a Jaron Morgan-led Joondalup side at Iluka Sports Complex.

Calum How (79) and Alex Malcolm (61) got the Lions off to a flyer with a 138-run opening stand, before finishing on 4-277.

In reply, the Centurions had no problem in chasing down, with Morgan (139) and Michael Swart (100no) leading them to a nine-wicket win with 31 balls to spare.

University continued its difficult start to the season, going down to a dominant Fremantle side by nine wickets at Stevens Reserve.

Will Bosisto was the star for the Students with 108 not out.
