WAFL: Subiaco tackles Peel’s seasoned AFL players in grand final rematch

SUBIACO will take on reigning premiers Peel Thunder in a grand final repeat at Leederville Oval tomorrow, with the Thunder boasting some seasoned AFL players.

Zac Dawson, Nick Suban, Cam Sutcliffe and Darcy Tucker have all been included in Peel’s squad after being dropped from the Dockers’ list this weekend.

Danyle Pearce, Jon Griffin and Matt Taberner are also chances to play after being named as emergencies for the Dockers.

Both Peel and Subiaco have won two games and lost one so far this season, with Peel sitting third and the Lions fifth on the ladder due to the Thunder’s larger winning margins.

Peel started their season strong with comfortable round one and two wins over East Perth and East Fremantle, but was caught out last weekend by a strong South Fremantle side, who downed the home team by 43 points.

Subiaco took down Perth by 23 points in their season opener, but were also taken down by a dominant Bulldogs team by 39 points in round 2.

The Lions managed to find their feet in round three, running over West Perth by 11 points.

The game will broadcast on 7Mate from 11.30am Saturday.
