ST HILDA’S has finished the year with a splash.

The school has taken out the IGSSA Water Polo Champion School title, a joint win with Santa Maria College.

The St Hilda’s team had a strong showing across junior and senior games, and won the Junior C and Senior B pennants for their divisions.

Water polo captain and Year 11 student Oliva Sime said the girls’ coaches had been top quality, and encouraged them to play to the best of their ability.

“This season the water polo girls played incredibly well together, coming through with an excellent result,” she said.

“This is really impressive, even more so because we haven’t done this well in water polo for quite a few years.

“The young girls coming through have so much skill and so much potential that I’m really looking forward to how they go in their IGSSA matches in 2018.”

Head of sport Emme Wild said the junior school physical education staff had been instrumental in developing the girls’ passion for water polo and swimming at an early age.
