WEST Coast Warriors’ league team claimed its first WA Netball League premiership since 2012, beating the South-East Demons 52-48 at Curtin Stadium on Sunday.
The lead changed several times throughout each quarter, but the Warriors managed to maintain control going in to each break.
The Demons were six goals in front in the second quarter, but the Warriors came back in the second part of the term, holding a two-point lead at half-time.

Premiership captain Jess Eales said the journey to grand final victory started two years ago when the club appointed head coach Karly Guadignan, who created a successful team and club.
“We had our agreed values in place and we made huge progress in 2015,” Eales said.
“We regrouped in 2016 with one goal in mind and we’ve done it.”
Guadignan said the players had worked hard and the premiership was “the feather in the cap”.
“Our message is that when we’re challenged we have to step up, and we knew today was going to be tough and going to be a challenge.
“We stepped up and delivered the result, which is fantastic.”
The Warriors had teams in the Under-18s and reserves grand finals, but lost to the Souwest Jets and Coastal Sharks respectively.
