Western suburbs WAFL starlets shine at AFL Draft Combine

WAFL players from the western suburbs were put through their paces under the watchful eye of AFL recruiters at the WA State AFL Draft Combine.

The six players were among 17 WAFL players at the Combine, held at Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka.

The combine included body composition, speed, agility and power tests.

Claremont’s Bailey Banfield recorded the highest running vertical jump (right leg) with 88cm and an impressive 80cm result in the standing vertical jump, while Subiaco’s Liam Ryan topped the results jumping off his left leg with a high-flying 90cm.

Claremont’s Jake Stergiou impressed in the repeat sprints as the only player to run faster than 24 seconds, with a time of 23.68.
