Perth Zoo turns a whopping 120 this year! To celebrate, the Zoo will be roaring with dinosaurs and in a world-first, will be bringing Australian prehistoric megafauna back from extinction!
Perth Zoo Dinosaur Keeper, Suzi Dolan, said: “The dinosaurs will be joined by some Australian megafauna friends. Imagine, giant tortoise, giant wombat, marsupial lion and others scattered throughout the Zoo.
“They’ve never been seen before, so it is a coup for Perth to be able to show them off before these extinct Australian native animals tour around the country.”
Just as the living Zoo changes, these prehistoric creatures will be changing too.
“There will be new dinosaurs arriving throughout the exhibition, so make sure you pop back in and check out the latest roarsome addition,” said Suzi. “Kids can use the discovery trail to record the creatures they spot on their Zoo travels.”
Zoorassic Park is included in the standard entry ticket to Perth Zoo and tells a very important story about species extinction.
Dinosaur enthusiasts should get in quick before they go extinct again. The exhibition runs from 15 September – 20 January. Perth Zoo is open every day from 9.00am – 5.00pm. More information can be found at www.perthzoo.com.au
