ANZAC Cottage June 4th Open Day: The Lad and the Flagpole

So many poignant stories about our servicemen and women have emerged during the World War 1 Centenary.

Whilst the story of ANZAC Cottage and its construction by the community in one day is well known, lesser known but equally evocative is the story about the plaque on the Cottage flagpole and the young lad whose sacrifice gave rise to its being.

The next Open Day at the Cottage, 38 Kalgoorlie St, Mt Hawthorn on June 4 from 1pm to 4pm features talks about the Lad and the Flagpole at 1:30 and 2:45.

Bookings are not required.

All are welcome, with free entry and afternoon tea for a gold coin donation.
