National Volunteer Week mini-expo in Fremantle

Date: Wednesday 10 May 10.00 am to 2.00 pm
Join us in the Fremantle Library on Wednesday May 10 between 10am and 2pm. Relax with a cuppa and chat to volunteer organisations about the great work they do in our community. Discover the wide variety of volunteer positions on offer.

Chat to current volunteers and enjoy our speakers throughout the day. We will also have a photographic exhibition showcasing some of our ‘local volunteers in action’ throughout the whole week.

10.00 am – Traci Gamblin – Senior Manager Development, Volunteering WA.
‘Benefits of Volunteering and Current Trends’

10.30 am – OOO! Hero. The St John Ambulance Early Childhood Program is about engaging with young children and educating them about first aid so that they know what to do in an emergency. A St Johns volunteer will read the children’s book 000 Hero.

11.00 am – Dr Megan Paull – Director of Postgraduate Research; Senior Lecturer – Management ; Co-Director – Centre for Responsible Citizenship and Sustainability ; School of Business and Governance. Murdoch University

12 noon – Dee Skuza chats about the new City of Fremantle Ambassador Volunteer Program. Come and find out if this volunteer opportunity could be for you?

1.00 pm – Kay Raymond – Community Development Officer, City of Fremantle. Kay will speak about seniors, volunteering opportunities and The One Stop Shop.
