Timor Leste Vision’s (PERTH) Quiz Night raising funds for urgent water and sanitation to village of Rialeco in Timor Leste – Friday 3 November
Timor Leste Vision (TLV) is a voluntary, not-for-profit, registered charity based in Perth. TLV have been working in partnership with the people of Timor Leste (Timor) for the past 10 years to deliver community-based projects to alleviate poverty, distress and disadvantage.
There are 60 families in Rialeco, which consist of 420 community members (310 adults and 110 children).
Abel Da Costa Concecao, Chair of TLV in Timor Leste says:
“Rialeco, would benefit tremendously by this project. There are 310 adults and 110 children. Upon successful completion this project would source fresh water to the entire 64 families and a school village.
Many diseases, specially skin disease in children related to the use of water from the river would be gone, communities would not have to walk distances in hours to get clean water, school children can have water for their toilets, agricultural crops can be grown. This water project is a life-changing project that can benefit many people.”
Doors are open at 6.00 pm for a 7.00 pm start. The event is BYO and we have snacks available for purchase or guests can bring their own snacks. There will be games, such as air guitar, raffles, silent and live auction, it’s always a fun night! Hope you can join us.
