Building Resilience and Self-esteem in Today’s Children
Are you worried, confused or concerned about parenting in today’s chaotic world? Children need to have certain basic experiences to build the competencies that will help them manage life – the good, the bad and the ugly.
Fremantle Primary School P&C is delighted to present an evening with popular parenting author and educator, Maggie Dent, on 16 October at the South Fremantle Football Club.
She has developed a common-sense, practical model of 10 building blocks that will reassure parents that what we have always known to be important in the early years of a child’s life is still important.
Her presentation ‘Real Kids in a Unreal World’, which is open to the public, will give parents practical, common-sense ideas and strategies to make small changes in your home, which will make a big difference to your children’s cognitive, physical, psychological, emotional and social health later in life.
Opening speech by Hon Simone McGurk, Minister for Child Protection; Women’s Interests; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence; Community Services and State Labor Member for Fremantle.
Early bird tickets of $35 are on sale now until September 15.
AUSLAN interpreters will be present on the night and special tickets near interpreters are available online.
Doors open for drinks from 6pm but the talk starts at 7.30pm sharp.
Tickets can be purchased online at http://tdy.cl/se/PybLBHQ
All proceeds from ticket sales and raffles go directly to the Fremantle Primary School P&C to generate extra-curricular activities and infrastructure for the whole school.
