BIRYANI: City of Perth Winter Arts Season 2017

BIRYANI is a unique theatrical and culinary experience combining storytelling, food and Indian classical music.

International star, from the Palme D’or Winning film Dheepan, Kali Srinivasan, cooks her family’s trademark Biryani recipe in front of the audience, sharing personal stories about food, love, identity and home.

Told with honesty, emotion and humour, BIRYANI is designed for an intimate audience, who will all share a beautiful Indian meal together.

Kali’s performance is accompanied by live music performed on classical Indian instruments by Tao Issaro, renowned percussionist/composer/music producer.

BIRYANI is designed to immerse the audiences in a high impact multi-sensory experience.

A co-production with Encounter in partnership with St George’s Foundation of the Arts, and part of the City of Perth Winter Arts Season 2017.
