Mandurah Gymsport Centre open day

Jill BurgessMandurah Coastal Times

AARON and Deanne Trousselot have been fielding dozens of emails and calls from people interested in a new gymsports centre they plan to open in Mandurah this month.

Infinity GymSports is taking over the old Fun Factory on Gordon Road to offer a whole new slant on gym activities for juniors and seniors with world class equipment.

Competitive gymnastics on a huge sprung floor built by the people who supplied the floor for the Beijing Olympics and cheerleading squads are just some of the activities not offered on such a scale in Mandurah.

According to Mr Trousellot, cheerleading is currently the biggest sport in the US and well on the way to becoming just as popular in Australia.

The Trousselots have a background in business, coffee and luxury transport and saw a niche for a gym sports facility in Mandurah.

Around 150 youngsters have already shown an interest.

“We’ve put everything we have into this,’’ said mother of four Deanna.

“We have carried out research for the past two years and also been under plenty of stress but the huge interest has boosted our confidence.”

The couple has huge plans for the facility including Ninja Warrior classes and gymnastic classes where adults can relive their youth.

There could even be classes for seniors and down the track, movie nights, karaoke, discos, fun games, family events and even a venue for birthday parties to give the place a great family feel.

They also hope to get schools on board and said most schools were unaware that special funding was available.

Ms Trousselot has worked in the special needs area and hopes there might be an opening for that as well.

Sunday, January 14 is open day with trial days held the following week.
