Lucas da PazSouthern Gazette

THE Belmont Skate Park will be temporarily closed from today due to rescheduled upgrade works.

Works for the initial upgrade should be completed by June 12.

The improvements include the resurfacing of a worn section of concrete near the skate bowl and the creation of a couple of moguls between the drop-in ramp and bowl.

City of Belmont chief executive officer John Christie said the City is looking forward to completion of the upgrades and is keen to hear feedback from the community.

“The new features are expected to improve skaters’ experience and will provide some added variety and new challenges for skaters, scooters and bikes,” he said.

There are plans for an additional shade shelter at the site in the next financial year, subject to budget approval.
