City of Belmont’s Let’s Celebrate Belmont Festival attracts record crowd

THE City of Belmont’s biggest festival of the year, Let’s Celebrate Belmont Festival, got off to a huge start with the first two major events attracting record crowds.

The inaugural Big Light Out at Faulkner Park on November 3 attracted more than 4000 people and featured DJ Shann and local loop artist Sam Perry.

Families enjoyed a variety of free activities including glow crafts, live creation murals, inflatable games, a silent disco, glow golf in the glow zone, as well as main staged entertainment

The popular Jazz in the Park at Tomato Lake proved another hit as the big crowd chilled out to Cathrine Summers, and Adam Hall and the Soul Playboys who entertained with their original arrangements of old and new soul music on November 5.

Festival events still to come include Jupp Lane Lounge, Ukulele Express, Bike Maintenance and Belmont Dinner Dates calendar launch.

The event will draw to a close with the Festival Finale on November 25 with a mix of free activities and entertainment including live music, free carnival rides and an international food fest.
