Caversham man carries Queen’s Baton through Elizabeth Quay

CAVERSHAM resident Shane Johnstone had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity on Saturday and carried the Queen’s Baton through Elizabeth Quay as part of the 2018 Queen’s Baton Relay.

Mr Johnstone is among 200 residents who have carried the baton around Perth.

Isabelle Turner, from West Swan, carried the baton in Fremantle on Saturday after it made its way to Rottnest Island with Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan.

Residents from all over Ellenbrook and the Swan Valley carried the baton on Monday through Guildford and Midland, before it left for Karratha ahead of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
