Gnangara man extradited from Melbourne to face meth, weapons charges

POLICE extradited a Gnangara man from Melbourne to face charges relating to a significant methamphetamine bust late last month.

He is the fourth man charged over the operation, with three others charged in November.

WA Police worked with Victorian officers to arrest the 26-year-old man and have him extradited through Melbourne Magistrates Court on December 31.

He is accused of possessing a trafficable amount of methamphetamine after police raids on properties in Gnangara, City Beach and West Leederville at the end of last year.

Organised Crime Squad investigators seized 32kg of methamphetamine, 1.8kg of cocaine and 300g of MDMA during those searches.

They also seized guns, ammunition and more than $800,000 cash.

The accused was charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine and possessing cocaine with intent to sell or supply.

He was also charged with possession of unlawful property, aggravated possession of a firearm and possessing unlicensed ammunition.

A Dayton man (27), Applecross man (23) and Leederville man (27) have also been charged.
